UAE Non-Oil Business Activity Surges to Nine-Month High in December

 The United Arab Emirates' non-oil private sector recorded its fastest expansion in nine months in December 2024, buoyed by strong domestic demand and increased business activity, according to the latest S&P Global Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) report. PMI Highlights Robust Growth The seasonally adjusted UAE PMI climbed to 55.4 in December from 54.2 in November, signaling robust growth well above the 50.0 threshold that separates expansion from contraction. This marked the third consecutive monthly increase, underscoring sustained recovery in the non-oil sector. Key drivers of growth included a notable rise in new business activity. The new orders subindex rose sharply to 59.3 in December from 58.0 in the previous month, reflecting strong domestic demand. UAE wins bid to host COSPAR 2028

 

UAE gains a huge leap of becoming a global hub of technology, which is symbolized through its recent achievement. UAE have secured the hosting of 47th Scientific assembly of the Committee on Space Research (COSPAR)which is scheduled to take place in Dubai from July 8-16, 2028.

The COSPAR is set to be held in the Arab world, COSPAR 2028 will bring together nearly 3000 researchers, experts and scientists to present and discuss the groundbreaking scientific research. This will bring new and innovative ideas that address various areas to be developed.

The prestigous achievement is announced by the Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence.He further expressed his gratitude to the team at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre, whose dedicated efforts have made this remarkable achievement possible.

MBRSC, which is promoting space science and technology among young people, aiming to nurture future scientists, engineers, and astronauts to advance UAE's space ambitions.
