UAE Non-Oil Business Activity Surges to Nine-Month High in December

 The United Arab Emirates' non-oil private sector recorded its fastest expansion in nine months in December 2024, buoyed by strong domestic demand and increased business activity, according to the latest S&P Global Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) report. PMI Highlights Robust Growth The seasonally adjusted UAE PMI climbed to 55.4 in December from 54.2 in November, signaling robust growth well above the 50.0 threshold that separates expansion from contraction. This marked the third consecutive monthly increase, underscoring sustained recovery in the non-oil sector. Key drivers of growth included a notable rise in new business activity. The new orders subindex rose sharply to 59.3 in December from 58.0 in the previous month, reflecting strong domestic demand. UAE Steps In: Solar Power Plant Offers Solution to Yemen's Electricity Crisis.


Wake up to this great news - UAE have fully funded Solar Projects in Yemen. Isn't great? Yes. Because Yemen is one among the countries that have been facing energy scarcity, ravaged by years of conflicts. Most cities faced lack of electricity, which has a significant impact on people's daily lives in these areas known for their high summer temperatures.

UAE came forward in supporting the project. It is the country's first strategic project fully funded by the United Arab Emirates. Today the inauguration of the 120-megawatt Solar Power plant project have taken place. Yemeni government and the citizens felt happy and praised UAE. It is big relief to the country.

During the inauguration, Prime Minister Ahmed bin Mubarak expressed his government’s gratitude for this strategic project, which aims to alleviate the electricity crisis.

The project’s total area spans 1.6 million square meters east of Aden and features 211,584 solar panels. On the other hand, the deployment of solar technology creates job opportunities in various sectors. The power plant will help provide electricity to coastal cities, hospitals and major facilities in Aden, which has suffered from almost a complete lack of electricity.

This stood as an example of UAE's efforts in implementing sustainability across the nation. Feeling proud of their efforts and funding. It gives glimmer of hope and a blueprint for sustainable recovery and acts as a beacon of hope illuminating towards more sustainable future.
