In a heartening display of solidarity, the UK's earthquake appeal for Turkey and Syria has garnered overwhelming support, surpassing £150 million ($191 million) in just six months. The tragedy struck on February 6, claiming the lives of at least 58,000 people across southern Turkey and north-west Syria.

The generous donations, totaling £151.8 million, are a testament to the compassion and empathy of people from all walks of life. The UK government's Aid Match scheme, contributing £5 million to the appeal, further amplifies the impact of individual contributions.

The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) proudly announced the milestone, expressing gratitude to the global community for stepping up during a time of great need.
