World powers assure in case of a nuclear war, no one emerges as a winner

nuclear war

Amid the heightened tensions between world leaders– China, Russia, Britain, United States and France–agreed that with continued threats of using nuclear arms, there is no way there is going to be a winner among them in the process.

On Monday, these countries agreed that with the increasing concern threatening world peace, they have to make sure that nuclear war is avoided at all cost. "We declare there could be no winners in a nuclear war, it should never be started,” said a joint statement as per Kremlin on Monday.

The statement added that they accept that using or even threatening to use nuclear weapons have far more dangerous consequences that one can imagine adding that these weapons should only be used for the purpose of defence against aggression and prevention of war.

The stance was backed by France which underlined the same facts saying that the five powers have agreed to reiterate their determination for nuclear arms. It also added that with this, they will continue bilateral and multilateral sides to control the use of such huge weaponry.

They have released a joint statement in the wake of increased geopolitical tensions between Russia and other western nations concerning Ukraine.

Russia has approached Ukraine aggressively where it had built a military base near the border it shares with the neighboring nation. After much blame, Moscow stated that it can do as it desires in and around its territories.
