On Friday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky asserted that his nation's Intelligence Service had revealed Russia was behind the coup against him.
At a press meeting in Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital, Zelensky stated that he got data that an overthrow was being anticipated next Wednesday or Thursday. He didn't give many subtleties to back up his charge, yet emphasized the speculated role of Ukraine's wealthiest oligarch, Rinat Akhmetov.
Kremlin representative Dmitry Peskov dismissed all the allegations to columnists in Moscow. "Russia never had such plans, and we never do plan deeds, Peskov stated."
Moreover, Russia accused the United States of causing this hysteria over Ukraine. Peskov said, "This hysteria is stirred up artificially; those who have produced their armed troops from abroad are blaming us of foreign military action on our territory, and it is the United States."
Akhmetov said Zelensky's accusations are an absolute lie." "We are offended by this lie, no matter what the President's aims are," Akhmetov said in a statement Associated Press reported.
Both the oligarch and the Russian administration dismissed the allegations. US President Joe Biden also expressed concern about the coup discussion and resumed US backing for Ukraine's sovereignty and self-administration.
When asked about the overthrow plans, the US State Department's representative Karen Donfried, stated that "We are in contact with the Ukrainian authority to examine this further, and we're attempting to get more data on it."
Biden stated that he expects to converse with Putin and Zelenskyy, "most likely."
