Russia has expressed worries over the new Taliban controlled Afghanistan; a power vacuum has arisen in the area, leaving Russia worried over security and the ascent in narcotics smuggling.

The Taliban penetrated Kabul in mid-August, making the US-supported government venture down. Three months have passed, but the conflict-torn nation still faces extending monetary, humanitarian, and security emergencies.

On 19 November, showing worries over the ongoing situation in Afghanistan, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed that the circumstance in the nation highlights the requirement for extra measures to guarantee his country's security as Russia operates its most extensive foreign army base in Tajikistan, which shares a border with Afghanistan.

Presently, political analyst Valerio Fabbri in his blog post for the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC), stated that Moscow is worried that drug dealers and militants could exploit the vulnerable situation in the region.

The analysts also highlighted that few countries are concerned about how the new government will function, economic crisis, trade, militancy, and increasing smuggling in the region.

Fabbri said that the chance of the Islamic threat multiplying across the district still exists, particularly without an alliance or support of foreign nations. Not to mention the point of view of outfitted Islamists gives a great danger of the illicit arms trade," he added.

Russia comprehends that unsteadiness in Afghanistan is damaging to the entire locale and at last to itself. In any case, he further added that Russia is additionally mindful that it can't deal with the circumstance with its powers alone, regardless of whether it needed to, Fabbri added.

The majority of today's chaos in Afghanistan began in recent years, and the withdrawal of troops by the US and its allies just made the situation even worse, which 20 years of foreign forces ' presence attempted to invert.
