UAE airlines successfully delivers the life-saving antiviral drug to Brazil

After receiving the consignment of the much talked about antiviral drug, the United Arab Emirates has successfully transported the drug to Brazil. The delivery was completed by UAE airline Etihad airways and EFL Global on Wednesday.

The Etihad airways has a logistic arm called Etihad Cargo takes care of logistics and it coordinated with global supply chain company EFL Global to carry the antiviral drug from India to Brazil on June 23. The whole consignment weighing around 55,000kg was transported from Hyderabad by a leading manufacturer.

The Senior Vice President Sales and Cargo of the Etihad Aviation Group, Martin Drew, said that despite others turning down the consignment, the airlines managed to do it without any trouble. "The sheer size of the consignment and the need for stringent product integrity over such a long distance had seen other carriers turn down the shipment,” said the senior official.

The official also said that this shows the abilities that the cargo has and its expertise in the field of logistics and EFL’s extensive industry expertise. He added that the shipment was successfully delivered following all the protocols throughout the journey. He further added, “The cargo was carried from origin to destination in the same flight, with no vessel change in order to preserve the consignment’s condition."

The cargo service is highly qualified for suh deliveries and possesses all the measures and equipment to deliver heavy as well as tricky consignments. It had to extend its IATA CEIV certification to be able to transport pharmaceutical logistics and capabilities that caters to +25⁰C and -80⁰C and ELF's CEIV and GDP compliance.

The EFL wanted to comply by the integrity of the consignment hence handed it over to Etihad Cargos in Hyderabad where the UAE airlines will be transiting the entire consignment through ABU Dhabi International Airport and Milan’s Malpensa International Airport en-route to Sao Paulo.

To monitor that the consignment has been successfully delivered, Etihad Cargo and EFL also came together to keep checking the real time status through the status through journey. The official also added that customers have started to trust the capability of the airlines and move the life saving drug from one place to another.

The Chief commercial officer of EFL, Rooso Ramchandran asserted that to carry out such heavy assignments, we heavily rely on healthy partnership and uphold the promise made to the client.
