The United Arab Emirates has dispatched its 18th aid aircraft carrying 40 tonnes of essential medical supplies to Lebanon as part of the “UAE Stands with Lebanon” campaign. This ongoing initiative, launched in early October, aims to provide critical food, medical, and shelter supplies to the Lebanese population, who continue to face severe hardships due to ongoing conflict. In close collaboration with international organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), UAE humanitarian organizations are playing a pivotal role in delivering life-saving aid to Lebanon’s vulnerable communities. The campaign is a direct response to the directives of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with further guidance from His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister, and under the l

Dubai residents can fly back but only with approval

Coronavirus positive cases are increasing with the speed of a rat but some countries have successfully controlled the number of cases and one such country is Dubai. The country has seen a decrease in the registered cases of COVID-19 and feels that this is the right time to open the way back for its residents.
Although this is a development towards normalising the situation to what it was before the pandemic hit, there are certain steps that have been taken to ensure the safety of the nation. For example- Only those with a Dubai-issued residency visa are eligible.
‘’You will get an instant response if your application has been approved. If the application cannot be processed at this time, you can try at a later stage,’’ Emirates said in an updated section on its website. It was further added that tickets are to be booked only after you have received approval. During this process you will be required to submit the GDRFA application number upon which your application will be approved.
Apart from being residents, there are a lot of other reasons why people want to travel back to the country. Some of them want to go back to their families and be with them in these crucial times. The federal government said this month that about 200,000 UAE residents were estimated to be overseas. To date, about 30,000 have been brought home on repatriation flights.
It is not as Dubai seems to be doing better in recovering the economy than most of the countries. A survey shows that total economic recovery is a far fetched thought right now but Dubai is still gradually moving towards recovery. Dubai bounced back to the highest since the coronavirus pandemic dragged the economy into a downturn, even as weak demand still stands in the way of a recovery.
Dubai is also planning to return to normalcy as far as tourism is considered. They have planned to open gates to the tourists, following proper guidelines, from July 7,2020.
International tourists travelling to Dubai must abide by-
Tourists must undergo a PCR test not more than four days (96 hours) before the date of departure and present proof of testing COVID-19 negative on arrival. If they can’t provide proof, they will have to undergo a PCR test at the airports.
●     All international passengers will be subject to thermal screenings. Those with COVID-19 symptoms will be re-tested at the airports. If they test positive, they have to register their details on the COVID-19 DXB app and isolate themselves at an institutional facility provided by the government for 14 days at their own expense.

All international tourists must fill out a health declaration form provided by the airline before starting their trip to Dubai. They must have valid international health insurance to enter the country.

They must download and register their details on the COVID-19 DXB app. This is to ensure seamless coordination and communication with health authorities if they experience COVID-19 symptoms.
