UAE Non-Oil Business Activity Surges to Nine-Month High in December

 The United Arab Emirates' non-oil private sector recorded its fastest expansion in nine months in December 2024, buoyed by strong domestic demand and increased business activity, according to the latest S&P Global Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) report. PMI Highlights Robust Growth The seasonally adjusted UAE PMI climbed to 55.4 in December from 54.2 in November, signaling robust growth well above the 50.0 threshold that separates expansion from contraction. This marked the third consecutive monthly increase, underscoring sustained recovery in the non-oil sector. Key drivers of growth included a notable rise in new business activity. The new orders subindex rose sharply to 59.3 in December from 58.0 in the previous month, reflecting strong domestic demand. This research examined 340 CEOs from S&P 500 businesses who had worked at their companies for at least two full fiscal years and filed proxy statements between January 1 and April 30.

Dr. Lisa T. Su is the president and CEO of AMD, a Fortune 500 technology company. She's also on the boards of directors of Cisco Systems, Inc., the Semiconductor Industry Association of the United States (SIA), and the Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA).

 2. Mary T. Barra (Payment: $29.1 Million)

Mary T. Barra is an American entrepreneur who is best known as the CEO of General Motors Company, which she has held since January 2014. Barra is the world's first female CEO of a major automotive manufacturer.

 3. Phebe N. Novakovic (Payment: $23.6 Million)

Phebe Novakovic is a former intelligence officer and businesswoman from the United States. She is the Chief Executive Officer and Chairwoman of General Dynamics.

 4. Adena Friedman (Payment: $20 Million)

Adena Friedman, the CEO of Nasdaq, is one of the 12 women. Nasdaq is a New York-based American stock exchange that ranks second among bourses in terms of market capitalization of shares traded.

 5. Kathy J. Warden (Payment: $19.5 Million)

Kathy Warden is the chairman, CEO, and President of Northrop Grumman Corporation. It's been a year since she was appointed CEO and president, after being voted chair of Northrop Grumman's board of directors.
